Our library is well stocked with a variety of picture story books, reference books, novels to suit all reading levels and an audio visual section. There is a dedicated library budget and the school regularly purchases new titles. As an annual event the school participates in a book fair enabling families to purchase popular titles; promoting and encouraging reading for pleasure. The school uses the Lexile reading program for students in grades 3-6 and they have the opportunity to change books each morning before school. A variety of teachers’ resources including big books for sharing are also available in the library for use. All classes have scheduled weekly library sessions with their classroom teacher providing opportunity for students to borrow books and allowing time to read for pleasure.
