Knowledge and Curiosity

At Quarry Hill Primary School a focus of our teaching and learning program is fostering knowledge and curiosity. This is developed through a biannual plan that focuses on the English, science, technology, history, geography, economics, health and civics and citizenship curriculum areas ensuring that all topics are covered over the two-year cycle.

Students are provided with resources and activities that explicitly build on their knowledge, understanding and vocabulary. They read rich texts and participate in hands-on projects that have real world and relevant applications that engage their curious minds and extend and challenge their understanding. These topics are integrated and incorporated into all areas of the curriculum.
